It's a great idea!! And I hope it happens?

But since it is such a smart move it probably won't happen?

Im keeping my fingers crossed, we need a few more located across the Front Range and plains or we will never see anything but Wipers and 12" Walleye in Colorado. They can learn to make Suchi from Carp!

Good fishing!
Mike

Sounds like a great idea that needs to make its way south to some NM water.

Good luck Kevin,

I didn't realize that the walleye fishery was all that good in Carter. I have always thought of it as a trout fishery. Are we talking about an occasional bycatch or can you really target the walleye with some success? May have to give it a try this spring.

What is the forage base for the Walleye's and Splake? Crawfish? Trout?

The DNR has been stripping eggs there for several years. Better night fishery than in daytime. I'm not in favor of catch & release fishing.

Oncorhynchus nerka makes this lake tick. I sure hope it goes through. I know I have done my part and let a lot of big fish go out of there. Collie

Neal, Kokanee salmon. They put a lot of rainbows in there and they are food too. Looks like you said Neal, I spoke with Terry Wickstrom at the boat show today and he is on the recommendation board along with Bob Todd and others. Any how he said he had talked to Rick Enstrom, who is a comissioner on the wildlife board and also belongs to the CWA and that proposal went right out the window. They see no reason for special regs. up there. If it were an issue concerning a trophy cold water fishery, they would crank it right through. What a double standard we have here in this state, I guess we can only make special regs. for Salmonids and suckers. Collie
