Default Minnows In Live Wells

OK, this might seem like a dumn question to most of you, but I have fished from boats like the Pro V that have bait buckets built into the live wells. So I just bought a 1700 Fishermam and have the 2 open live wells. Is there some sort of bucket or container that can be used for minnows and you simply place it in your live well? Leeches are no problem with leech totes and keepers, but what can I do for minnows? Any advice will be appreciated.

Plano makes a small minnow holder for just this purpose. Only costs about $7 or so. I use it in my Lund live well and it works fine.

You could also buy the Minnow Tamer.

I second the minnow tamer from JNB Originals. They make them in 1, 5, and 10 gallon models I believe. Give them a call at 507-629-3969.

Good Luck!

I have this Plano model, used it last summer, its great. It floats around in your livewell. In fact, its the actual minnow container that comes standard in some boat manufacturers' live wells (Lund, for example.)

i bought a thing at a sports show this winter that was a mesh netting that hung from a pvc pipe frame . the frame floats in the livewell and the mesh holds the minnows. its about 6 inches deep.this unit is always open to just reach in to. minnow buckets in livewells are a pain. this really looks like a neat invention anybody else use them yet?

Being mesh, what keeps it upright and open. I am guessing it collapses?
Thanks,

jim- the pvc pie is built in about a 5 inch by 8 inch square so the net suspends below it. the guy told me one of the bigger bucket mfgs copied it and was going to have them out but i have not seen them yet.the pvc is about 1/2 or 3/4 in pipe. i think the collapsable ones would be more hassle than a bucket.
