At least a year ago I downloaded a technique to put line on two Diawa
27lcs. I did my best searching the arshives on WC but can't find it. It has probably been over a year and I don't know how far back they go. If any of you folks that have the know how and patience I would appreciate the instructions again. I will be using 30lb PowerPro. Thanks in advance. Meathead |

Meathead, I've got 2 Diawa 27 linecounters filled with 30lb power pro and this is the formula that worked for me. Started out with putting 800 ft. of cheap 10 pound backing on first and then spooled up with power pro which ended up putting just over 400 ft on to fill the spool. I used a 300 yd spool of power pro which filled both reels with a little over 400ft. Hope this is what you were looking for & good fishing!

Bulletny,
Thank you for your reply and instructions. I'll give it a try. I'm sure it will be OK. It jogged my limited memory some and it seems some thing similar to your advice was on this forum a little over a year ago. Thanks again. Meathead |

If I were to spool up two linecounter 27's today I would do it this way:
take one reel and tape your braided line onto the spool. Spool up the entire amount of line you wish to use (ex. 150 yards.) Now take your mono line and spool that up until this reel is full. you now have a full spool of backer line and braided line on one rees BUT it is on backwards. If you simply spool this line from one reel to the other, that reel will then be spooled up correctly. IF you took down proper measurements from your line counter digits of the length of backer line you would be ready to spool up the other reel with the correct amount of backer line then braided line. Think this should work and plan on getting two 17's or 27's soon and will do it this way in the very near future. good luck and good fishing |
