Nothing screws up walleyes. It's us screwing up, not being able to adjust to an ever changing calendar, weather, and water type.

Walleyes are the "Monk's" (new paranoid TV detective series) of freshwater. Just about anything - That's what makes them fascinating and elusive! ;-)
You said "cold water", I think you ment "Cold Front". Walleyes are inclinded to seek cold(er) water because this is where they are most comfortable. But; boat traffic, thunder storms, clear skies, swimmers, day, night, afternoon, morning................ the list goes on. I'm not playing with you, I'm serious - just about anything can turn them off and on. This is why so many of us try to share methods, tactics, baits, etc., with others, on this board, to help us all learn how to be better fisherpeople for the Walleye. That fish is one of the hardest to catch. If you hang around here and do some "searches" it will help. I've been at it for YEARS and I'm just learning a little! }( The ONE THING I have learned......Walleyes are predators. They are always searching for food and comfort. Comfort including temperature and sturcture. Learn to find those and you're part way home!

Love the Monk-walleye metaphor. ;-)
It's a long weekend--think I'll try to catch a few "Monks". |
