This unit has seen more problems than any other locator Lowrance has ever produced all the way back to the old green box, however after having to return two units, now on my third one I hope this one stays as good as it is currently operating...That being said when it's working it's a great unit.I would recomend a service contract however.Their service has been outstanding.Best of luck.

Rebs,

Don't base your decision on one person's response. There are 100's of us who love the x15 and have had no problems. I would buy another in a heartbeat if I wasn't considering color. Don't be afraid of the x15.

I have an x15 and absolutely love it-it has been in service since April with zero problems. Mine is without the GPS and the resolution and fish/bottom pictures are so much better than my Bottomline Tournament Master I had on my old boat. I sent the Bottomline back atleast 4 times, and it never, ever recorded a fish arch, and after 3 years, by dumb luck one fish should have swam through the beam perfectly. I have not updated the unit at all, it seems that the people who have problems have updated their units.I am certain that some weren't updated, but, no more Bottomlines for me.

does anyone know if lowrance has an up grade policy
where instead of returning my lms-240 for repair again I could pay a fee and up grade to the 15mt ?

Almost all the manufactures nowadys well take trade ins on same brand products, you just need to call or email their customer service rep.
