I am wondering if anyone has the X19 and how they like it. I am also wondering if people think it is worth the extra money over the X15. Thanks for your input.

I have the predecesor, X16C, to the 19, and also run the X15. The only reason I can see would be to have the color screen, which I do like and think is worth it. As far as just functionality. I think the 15 marks fish very well even though it has 350 verticle pixels versus the 480 that the 16, and 19 have. If color is important to you, then the 19 is an excellent choice, but the 15 will show you all that the 19 will, just not in color.

I also have the LCX 16. At the time I got it, it was on sale and didn't cost much more than the 15 so I felt it was worth it. The 480 vertical pixel count makes for a really nice looking display. The color is really nice because you can get a better reading on the strength of the returned sonar signal. Would I pay the "$2000" for a 19? No. Am I glad I paid the "$1000" for the 16? Yes. Of course these two units have the GPS which is nice. If I had to start over today I would definately look at the Garmin 320C and the Furuno 600. If color is not an issue for you, the 15MT is great! I don't think I would try to get along without color.
Just my 2 cents worth.:) |

I have heard the 15's will be going on sale next month. I believe that Gander will be having the Lowrance reps in the store and rumor has it that you will be able to buy a 15 for $500.
I can't confirm this but it's what I heard through a friend. Brax |

REALLY, I could use a x-19!
Here's the scoop. My friend has a X-70a that blew it's seal. He called Lowrance and they said he could trade it in on a X-15mt for $500 or get $150 off coupon on other units ( can't remeber which units). So he goes to Gander to look at them, and the X-15mt is just under $600. He starts talking to the clerk about the unit and his dealings with Lowrance. Well the clerk ends up telling him to watch Fleet Farm's pricing, once they go on sale Gander will also have them on sale. The date of March 6th was thrown out there. That's the scoop, Not 100% sure this will happen, BUT I wouldn't bet against it. Brax |
