Default Do you use Rod Socks?

Question: Do you use Rod socks or sleeves for your rods and if so what do you think is the best rod sock on the market (features, cost, etc.)? Thanks, Jim Carroll NPAA #333

JC,

They sure help keep tangles in my rod locker to a minimum. I've checked out several brands on other guys boats-BP, Cabelas, I think some by Amish Outfitters. All mine are Rod Control socks by Beckman. They all seem pretty comparable to me. I usually "start" with the socks on and they end up in a pile in a compartment as I get rods out during a days fishing!

BTW-Good job by you and "the other" JC at the Fox Chain!

Tim

I started with 0 and ordered one for every rod that I had. I contacted Angler's Pride and gave them the exact dimensions I wanted (length) for each rod. Not only was she able to do that, but then she color coded every type of length for me. They also make a rod sock for take down versions which are also really nice.

I've had them now for 4 years, and not one has failed me. I've placed a second order with them since. I've compared them to others and still find these to be the best. www.anglerspride.com

I'll second the Angler's Pride recommendation. I've tried several different brands of rod socks and the Angler's Pride socks are the best in my opinion. Jerry and Kay are nice people to deal with too.

I use rod/reel socks on my Mr Pike side locker, I can get 10 rods in with out a tangle. My wife makes the best, color coded, rip stop nylon.

I prefer Bass Pro Shops, they are adjustable and have a loop on the end if you need to hang the rods up in a garage etc.
very well made and great price
