Anyone fish Rainy Lake?

Hey Guys. I'm going to plan a fall trip to Rainy Lake. Would like to find out when the fall bite is. Will be camping so don't want to freeze though. I've heard Rainy river has big fish in the fall too, but never have fished the river. Any info appreciated.
