anyone with experiance with furuno gps? good or bad. i don't think i have seen a post on them here.

I have a GP31. Before that, I had a GP30 on my other boat. Very easy to read (size wise). Never had even an inkling of a problem with either on of them. This is the smaller one though, no fancy chart plotter or anything. My point is, if this unit is so reliable, the larger models with all the bells and whistles have to be just as good.

Furuno Electronics are bout the best you can put on your boat. Just take a look at large commercial fishing boats...i dont think i have ever seen a Lowrance on any of them...all Sitex, Simrad, Raytheon, and Furuno electronics...

Furuno is a good company with excellent GPS units but you want to be sure to consider what maps you will run, if any. For inland lakes you will likely want to be Navionics Premium compatible. Check the option here:
