I've never had any issues with Berkley Big Game. It's cheap enough to allow line changes, and withstands the rigors of trolling.

Have you ever tried Sufix? Started using this year, nothing but great results.

We use 14lb Trilene XL because it's more flexible/has less memory and it's heavy enough to stand up to the wear and tear of running boards and bouncers where there's zebras. Haven't had any breakoffs in quite awhile. I would recommend using hi-vis or the clear blue flourescent so you can see it - helps in a lot of ways and doesn't make any diff to the fish. FYI - Berkley makes Trilene.
