What size treble do most guys use on their harnesses for open water trolling?? Thanks!!

i stopped using trebles due to lost fish. alot better hook-ups for me without the trebles... that's comparing them over 3 yrs side by side.

This is true!

If you have penetration with two barbes you only have 50% of the hooking force because it is spread between the two. One hook = 100% (less reduction because of line and normal circumstances)

I use treble hooks - I believe I miss fewer fish and have had more hookups after I changed to trebles. I don’t use trebles pulling spinners close to the bottom or in snaggy areas. Open water and not too snaggy areas, number 8 or number 6 trebles on the Great Lakes or areas with larger eyes. VMC.

4&6,bottom hook only. VMC's and gammy round bend.
