New Cabelas in Ohio?

Hey, my parents were over tonight and mentioned they heard earlier this week on the local news (Cleveland) that Cabelas is looking to put a store in Wadsworth Ohio. I checked their website under future new store locations and didn't see anything, Did anyone else see that news cast?

A Cleveland television channel also reported that Cabela's was considering a building location in Wadsworth.

I've been hearing this for over a year - believe that some land wasn acquired a while back - not sure on the timing, etc. but the locations I've heard about are right off of Interstate 76 and for those not familiar with Wadsworth - it is located between Interstate 71 and 77 so it should be pretty accessible if / when it happens.

i would love it if they did, seeing its right down the road from me, but it would also suprise me, since there is a cabelas store not too far in michigan and not too far away in west virginia, seems like 3 stores that close together would compete against each other, but there are smarter people then me on that subject.

I have also heard this rumor, I for one hope that it dosen't go to Wadsworth. I also heard that they were going to build it buy the new soccer stadium in (Macedonia maybe?). It was stated that Cabelas wants to have a store in every state, I don't think somebody from Cinncy. would drive to NE Ohio to shop, Columbus would be a better area in my opinion.

Not sure I agree that Columbus would be the best location. I think that you would want to keep it within close range of Lake Erie.

Any of you walleye guys seen the new BASS PRO Spring catalog? As far as I'm concerned for us Eye guys the selection for baits and other eye related stuff SUCKS. just my two cents worth and they are building a BPS about 40 minutes away from my house.I'll take Cabella's or Gander Mountain or Jann's anytime!!!!:-(

If they do build the new Cabelas in Wadsworth it will only be about one mile from my house. I'll go work there when I retire, I won't even need a paycheck, just put mine on store credit!

I definitely spend my fair share at Cabela's and occasionally Bass Pro, but really try to spend most of my tackle $$$$ at local places near Lake Erie like Den's Sportsman's Outpost in Vermilion, Happy Hooker in Oak Harbor, Fisherman's Wharf in Port Clinton, Highway Bait in Marblehead/Lakeside, Cranberry Creek in Vermilion, and Erie Outfitters in Sheffield/Avon.

Might be a few % more on some items, but the info and friendships developed at these places are well worth it - ya might even say "PRICELESS"
