I inherited a Cannon mini-mag downrigger with no manuals of course. Question I have is how much power they use. I wanted to hook it up to an accessory battery I have, which would be separate from my starting and trolling motor batteries. However, the battery rating only says 12V and 26AH. Is this big enough to run this downrigger for a few hours of fishing?

if it is 10 amps then a 26 amp hour battery would provide for 2.6 hours of operation. i doubt that you would ever run a pair of riggers 2.6 hours during a typical day of trolling so i agree that battery should work fine.
