just wondering how you guys light your boards at night. I saw some where a portion of styrofoam is removed from the back of the board and a AAA battery pack is mounted then a bulb is secured/glued to the top of the board near the flag which can be seen 360 degrees. I am wondering what bulb is used for this application thanks.

I drill a 5/32" hole in the top of my boards, and insert the Lindy Nite Brite lights.

Install 2 neoprene O'rings on the flags. (o'rings last forever)
Slip 4" glow stick into o'rings (buy the glow sticks online in bulk) No need to worry about batteries going dead. |

I use these http://www.wdiyc.org/catalog/garrity-c.html (picture on the top left) Fun-Tastick Glo Lite
I have had some in use since spring night bite. I like to use 2 zip ties, that way you can slide them in and out for day and night use and you can clip them on the flag as well. make sure not to zip them to tight or you'll be having to snip them when you want to take them off or won't be able to slide them in the next night. The camping section at Wal-mart has them and cost 2.00. they will last forever, I'm still in shock that the water doesn't damage them and how long they last, best 2.00 bucks you'll ever spend. I night fish spring and nite, 3-4 days per week and this is the best I can come up with. |
