Default 2009 Merc 9.9 Kicker Extention

Just got a new Merc 9.9 Kicker installed. I am looking for recommendation for an extension handle for manual steering? Anyone?

I have a Yammi T8 and use a Minnkota one which works fine. I had to remove the rubber inner piece so it fits the handle.

Is your other motor a tiller or do you steer it with helm/steering wheel?

Default Wiffle Ball Bat does work!

I've got a friend with a 620 and a T-8... He uses a wiffle ball bat! Electirian's tape and a small section cut off the fat end. I was suprised at how well it worked.

Hey Jim, bought this one last year after you mentioned it in the past, works great, but now I can not tighten it very well and it will not release to come off, I never really looked at the mechanism of this closely, am wondering if there were any springs or other things that may have fell out? I just see the knob for tightening and 2 pieces of plastic that come down on the handle, anything missing? thanks Dave in Walker

Default handle

Jim, figured it out, there is 1 bolt like piece in the handle that got misaligned, I am back in business, this is a good handle for those looking for an extension. The minnkota handle I looked at did not fit my handle?

I use a whiffle ball bat. Cut the bat off at the desired length, then I cut 5 inch strips length wise down the bat (this allows the handle to fit tightly when taped). Then I take electrical tape and wrap it up! Works like a dream.
