Default Leaky livewell valve

My ranger livewell will leak water out after there full. When running back with chatch in livewell I get to dock and livewell has almost no water left. My controls for livewell are Auto-empty-reculate. When I have it in auto thats when water leaks out. There is a rebuild kit for valve will this take care of it but I think I will have same proplem next year. I have same proplem in my 04 crestliner after the 1st year.

Thumbs up

Don't bother with the rebuild kit...the valves themselves aren't significantly more expensive from what I recall. Get yourself the whole unit and swap it out and you'll be in good shape.

(PS if you haven't tried it yet, try backflushing it with a hose from the outlet. Sometimes this works, I understand...though it never worked for me)

Default Leaky Valves

That is a lot of water to lose to run back to the dock. It could be the valves and it could be the overflow. Try running in recirculate mode & see if that helps. I just replaced 3 valves on my boat, the first one was a bugger, but it got easier after that. I took one of the old ones apart to see what they looked like inside. There is just a rubber flapper in there.
