This has probably been posted on here before. Sometimes all we need to do is get to the right people to get issues resolved. For those who think customer service is dead at Lowrance, try contacting the person below. My experience has been prompt, and she is the most knowlegable person that I know at Lowrance.Granted I do not know a lot of people from Lowrance, but it has been my experience and many others that this Lady knows her stuff and gets things done. I am in no way affilliated with Lowrance, Just a lifelong customer since the "Green Box". I have been fortunate to fish with many different people over the years who have had different products. They all have a niche and they all get the job done and they all have problems from time to time. Customer service, when it's done right is the backbone of any company. Sometimes it's just knowing who, what, and where to get effective service. Sometimes it's all in the approach. Sometimes after spending hard earned money, our delivery is a little altered when things go south. Just something to keep in mind. She responds quickly to e-mails.

IMHO ~ If Lowrance built a solid/stable product like they used to >> pre-2000's, then the customer service calls & the time with/out 'krapped-out units would be nearly nil !!!
I'm buying new electronics this winter to upgrade (after 2000) Lowrance units (wish I still had my older lowrance stuff that worked fault-free till I left them go) & thinking 'looong term fault-free use on the water, even if it does cost me a couple of extra bucks ... started my purchase homework a couple of months ago & hope to buy new electronics right after the 1st of the year/2009...

I'm looking at the entire electronic field and will make up my mind the 1st of the year... Backwater Ed has also posted some good advice w/detailed info...
I'm not looking for the lessor of two evils, but a solid well-built unit that's not on the 'krap-out customer service merry-go-round

I too am in the market for some new electronics. Have been a Lowrance guy since the green box but now I'm not so sure, especially after reading all this on WC. Seriously looking at Humminbird. It's just when you get so used to a product and how it works, it's hard to go away from it's "familiarity". But, if this many people seem so unhappy....
Anyhow, now I need to start researching. I own two X15's (that's how long it's been since I bought some electronics and even had some initial problems with the transducer of one of those) and won't part with them until I'm sure of what I want. I want a good sonar/gps unit with at least a 5 inch screen. Maybe two of them in fact. Advice? |

I sent Linda Colt (who manages walk-in customer service) a note this morning asking for a previous version of software for my depthfinder and I've already had a reply from 2 Lowrance people, including copies of the files I wanted.
That is certainly responsive! |

My next graph is going to be a Vexilar flasher. I just bought a Edge2 from Vexilar on their site I found out how flashers work and I think they are slick. True real time readings.
