I've decided to install splash guards on my Crestliner 202. Anyone have experience with BOTH Whitecaps and Wave Wackers that can give opinions pros/cons likes/dislikes between the two? I know Wave Wackers are a little more $, but that doesn't matter. I want to buy these once and do it right. Which ones do you prefer? Is one brand better quality than the other?
Thanks. |

This is always an interesting topic and I have owned both. I prefer the Wave Wacker because I like the construction better. It seem like the Whitecaps are more popular on this site because of the price. They are both hand made so look at both and decide. |

I bought Whitecaps this year and was extremly happy w/ them and the owners personal guarantee. Just talking to the guy on the phone you get the sense that if things aren't right he will make it so. I put them on a 40 yr. old Lund w/ 2 cut outs and they fit right out of the box.

wave wacker is the one you want to go with. with what you have invested in a boat and if your a serious fisherman and do any amount of backtrolling the little difference in cost means nothing in the long run. whitecaps may be fine but i think most serious fishermen will choose wave wacker. good fishing

My only experience has been with Wavewackers and it has been all good. Almost 20 years ago, my wife surprised me with wavewackers on my Lund. She dealt with the nice folks at Herrick Enterprises and they were super helpful.

I have owned both splash guards in the past two years. Last year I had wave wackers with my 202. This year I have my 2nd set of whitecaps. I spend countless hours backtrolling with my vantage, kicker, and even my 250 pro xs. Bottom line, I am dryer with the whitecaps. They may lack a little in fit and finish, but they are designed better to deflect watter and the close the gaps between the motor cut outs better with their rubber flaps. Go with the whitecaps, you will NOT be disappointed.
