Default Snap in Carpet

What are the advantages and disadvantages of snap in carpet. For those who have snap in carpet would you order it again if you bought a new boat?

Thank you.

I like mine. It I am fishing for catfish I can snap it out. And not have it in the floor. But on hot days I put in back it. Also nice to lay it out in the basement and use a vacuum on it.
And Yes I would order it again.

I have it and would absolutely want it again. I take it out for when we go up north camping. We use our boat for both a family/ski rig and a fishing rig. I try to keep the carpet nice for when I'm out with my family. The snap out carpet is a really nice feature.

Thumbs up

I got it for the first time in my rig this year and wouldn't order it without again. Great on the feet. Easy to remove if don't want it in for wet weather and also to dry out and clean.

No, I wouldn't order it if it didn't come with the boat. I kept it in the first year. I started the second season without it installed, it's been rolled up in storage since. I can't ever see installing it again. The textured floor in my boat has plenty of grip, it's easy to keep clean and a heck of alot cooler in the summer. No tracking dirt in to the carpet...etc. Rinse down the fish slime/blood/cola/beer any time, just grab the little bucket and use lake water, washes right down, clean. No soaked carpet.

No more carpet for me. Wife says the same thing.

Mixed feelings. I love the feel of the carpet and it looks good too.

However, my snap out carpet has a backing on it that absorbs water and if I put it away wet, with a fan on, it takes 4 days or so to dry and as such can get "stinky". Only good way is to leave in sun until dry which usually isn't possible.

I've been running without it to avoid worrying about drying it.

I must agree with Went522 on this.
I keep a clean 5-gal bucket onboard for transporting minnows and wash-down.
A little clorox and a brush keeps it clean and white.

I like having the ability to remove the carpet from the boat and set it on the driveway to power wash it. I would definitely order again if I ever changed boats.

Thumbs up double the carpet

I have a 1800 Pro V with carpeting. I ordered the snap in carpet and installed on top of my existing carpet. I like the extra padding with both layers. I also like being able the pull out the carpet and hose it down if the kids spill. My next baot will have snap in carpet 4-sure.
