Default Ranger 1760 motor options

Has anyone ran the Angler 1760 with a 115 HP motor? This is the boat I am considering, and am uncertain about how it will perform with 3 people in the boat. Also, does anyone have any other comments related to that model? I am a multi-species person, who prefers trolling.

Thanks

Don't know how it performs. But, I've looked at that boat at the last boat show, and it is one fine looking boat. To me, the 115hp seems too small for that boat.

Thank you for the quick reply. Any other first hand reports would be great.

It's rated for a 150 now I think that would be a really nice combo.

In my opinion, I think you, yourself need to take one for a spin, I wouldn't trust other's judgement, again IMHO it's borderline under powered.

I have a 115 E-tec on mine and it gets up on plane real quick and runs out at 40mph on the gps. the 150 that they are rated for now would really be nice.

The 1760 is indeed rated for 150 hp now. Ranger has quietly updated their website to show the change.

I didn't even consider the 1760 due to the hp limitations prior. But now I am going to contact Pamp's to check out the 1760. Should be a nice setup. I MIGHT be able to squeeze the 1860 into my garage, but it would be dicey. The 1760 will fit nicely.

Might want to ask about the 130 E-Tec. Great price point but yet lighter and less fuel than the 150's and about 4+ mph over the 115.

Are the 150's OK'd for the 09 model year??? or 08???? Looking hard at a few F&S combo boats (Skeeter, Ranger, Yarcraft, etc), and the 1750 is a bit closer to my pricepoint. 150 should push it upper 40s without any issues.

The 150's are for the 09 boats. I have a 150 etec on an 1850 and I am in the upper 40's, a 1750 should be in the 50 range pretty easily. When I asked the dealer about price difference with both boats having 150's, he said it would only be $2,000 difference between a 1750 and an 1850. If garage space or towing isn't the issue, I would spend the $2,000. You are getting a lot more boat in the 1850 in my opinion.
