Default Top Set Questions

I bought an 1850 Reata this spring. And got the "stand up top" for it, along with the front curtains. The snaps to attach the front curtains are no big deal. But I didn't want snaps along the sides and the back, so I passed on the side and back curtains, and I think that was a good decision.

But now with moose hunting coming up shortly, I'm wishing i had the whole set. And i'm wondering (if i got one) if it would work to use a strip of velcro along the gunwales to keep the curtains attached for that one week a year, and then remove the velcro from the boat til next time. Would that work? Or are snaps the only option?

I also have 1850 Reata with full top set from Ranger with front, sides and back. I too refused to drill snaps into side of boat. Hard to really explain, but I put grommets in the corners and middle and used bungee cords. It doesn't "seal off" like snaps would, but worked great for the purpose and does nothing permanent to the boat.

PS. My entire top set, including a custom bag for holding curtains, are for sale. Call me with reasonable offer if you're interested, 612-325-7032. Grey color. I'm in Twin Cities.

Bunzey, Will that work on a 1860 Angler?

I don't know. If I recal correctly, the windshield is further back on the 1860 which makes me question if the reaer curtain will be too long for the 1860?

Check with Ranger and if they say it works, let me know.
