Question Running 24 volt motor with 3 batteries?

Has anyone done this? Currently running a 36 volt but may be switching to a 24 temporarily...can I still incorporate the 3 batteries?

Will it affect the longevity of the batteries?

Thanks in advance,

you can can run 3 batt 24v system one parellel one series and one bolth. The system will only be as good as your worst batt. nt sure if it will give more run time.If you have room you could run 4 6v batt, think the best /ezest way to keep simple and low maint is to run 2 12v.Less wires less headakes.Another thing might be to to up your batt size [reserve capacity]if you r not happy w/ur current batt life.

If your just going to be running a 24v temporarily I'd suggest moving what is now the 36v positive lead from battery #3 to the positive post of battery #2 which will give you your required 24 volts. Battery #3 will be out of use for the time that you are using a 24v TM and you shouldn't experience any problems with duration of battery life. While you could change the configuration to utilize all three batteries by paralleling either batteries 1 & 2, or 2 & 3, then series the remaining battery, it will still only be as strong as the weakest battery.
Simplest way would be to just take one battery out of the series and go from there since it is only temporary.

Default battery usage

Mex, if your TM batt's are readily accessable and your anticipate a fair amount of use and recharging while your in this transition, might not hurt to number your batteries 1,2,3, and rotate that 3rd one into use now and then so they all see equal use and age the same. If this is short term change, a month or so and a couple of recharges, wouldn't think it would fall too far behind in the aging process of the other two. Didn't know how long you planned on having your system altered.

Depending on how quickly I sell my new Maxxum with a 62" shaft and replace it with a 52" shaft...that will be the time it takes. Might be a long time, might be a little. Hopefully a little but I don't think people are spending right now.
