Mercury 225 EFI- How to Winterize?

I only got to get the boat out once this season due to health reasons. Hate to have to pay the dealer to winterize it again. Thought maybe I do it my self just this time?

If you check your owners manual, it normally details the instructions quite carefully.

For most motors all that is required is the use of fuel stabilizer in the gas, and the use of fogging oil in the cylinders.
It is always a good idea to check for moisture in the lower unit. If you want you can change the lower unit oil, but if no moisture is present, and the use is low - there is really no need to change the oil.

Of course, you want to make sure that the engine is stored a bit in a full upright position to be sure that all of the fuel is out of the lower unit and water pump.
