i just did a search on tiller glass boats. what a plethera of info! i now own a wheeled tuffy but am thinking of going tiller for the fishability. wearing a helmet doesn't thrill me though. which 18 ft.er has the highest freeboard and deepest v? and if someone would make one of these without a casting deck one of these days, that would be great. i troll the great lakes plus family fish the smaller lakes. of even a smaller casting deck.

but the Lund 1800 Alaskan has a flat floor all the way to the bow. Here's an ad that has a few pics: http://www.boattrader.com/listing/20...iller-93731912

Warrior might be worth a look. They have a nice deep hull and can be ordered with a short casting platform. Check out the 1890.

looked at the picks of the lund. looks light, narrow, and kind of flat in back half. don't know if i'd feel safe going 17 miles out to islands in lk. mi. in 3 to 4 ft.ers. looks like a great inland boat though. i have been looking at the warrior and it looks like the one maybe. kind of thinking of giving up on the salmon anyway cause they just don"t taste as good as walleye. but fun to catch!

Here are some choice in 18 foot tillers:
Warrior V1890 Backtroller XST Tuffy 1890T Osprey Ranger 618T Lund 1800 Pro V Alumacraft 185 TP The glass boats will be the dryest ride. I own a Lund tiller and have to put raingear if quartering waves. |

The 18 ft Warrior is the deepest.
Only two 18 ft glass tillers made right now. Ranger and Warrior. |

The Skeeter WX1790T is 17-6 with a 89" beam. 22" deep but it does have the front casting platform. It handles very well, maybe one to look at. Awsome price too.

Yar- Craft also makes the 1785 BT tiller boat. A well respected unit.

If your gonna run 17 miles in 3 to 4 footers, I'd change my boat package. Unless time is no issue.

my 1760 osprey is single console but for a 17 fter. it does a great job. you do get wet when quartering large waves. i just thought an 18 fter would be better and more fishing room with a tiller. don't know if i could control a tiller in large waves like that though like my wheeled boat.
