My panther kicker lift seems to be working very sluggish this year any suggestions? The battery is fully charged. I greased the unit.

I had the same problem.
I'll bet it is the motor as with mine. I live near Marinetech. I drove over to their warehouse with my actuator and motor. A tech was very helpful in helping solve my problem. I have heard of guys having the motors rebuilt, Panther marine also sells them. You can do a search and find previous posts, etc. Link to Panther: http://www.marinetech.info/parts/par...550350&catid=2 Maybe Eric Olson can provide his insight also. I went out and messed with it again. it could make since it is the motor. the wiring infront of the motor gets quite warm. maybe I will start there and get it rebuilt.

If you grease it more than one or two pumps, it will force the grease into the motor portion (guess how I know this). I had to take the motor apart, clean up the insides, de-grease it, especially the brushes/commutator, has been working great for the last 3 years. Mine had the same exact symptoms you are describing. If you are not comfortable taking it apart, get somebody who is familiar with starter motors, identical inside. I think a lot of these motors are being replaced without needing it. I've cleaned out about 3 others, sme thing.

Now that you have it back together, I remembered something else. I put a thin bead of silicone around the outside of the 2 seams of the motor body and around the spots where the wires enter.(after the motor was back together) Not sure if these are necessary, but it seemed like good insurance. Apologize for the 2 part response, dang memory anyway. Good Luck
