vantage on 1880 skeeter

Can you place a vantage 80lb on the transom of the 1880 or do you need a kicker plate? Heard both from 2 dealers.

You should be able to just mount it to the transom, I've seen 1880 WXs with kickers that are mounted right to the transom, no kicker bracket or mounting plate needed.
