Default Suggestions for a baitcasting reel for BB

What is a good quality, yet inexpensive(<$100) baitcasing reel to use for BB(bottom bouncing) in Canada?

The Quantum Walleye Grade reel is a good choice for BB, it replaces the Accurist PT models. If you can find any of the Quantum Accurist PT's on sale still, they were a pretty good deal. They were selling for under $70 last year.

I find the Abu Garcia 5600 to be a satisfactory size for BB. They don't have the flippin switch but do have the thumb bar release which is pretty handy.

I do not know how long they will last but these reels are going to be the hottest thing for BB guys I have seen in a long time.http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/st...001000_100-1-0

I use a left and a right hand at the same time. These reels have a thumb switch to reel in slack without having to reach over and use the other hand. If you run two BBs these reels are the ticket. You can lower the rod tip, raise it up to five foot or so and reel in the slack,or drop the BB with a push of the switch, using only one hand. I have been waiting for something like this for a long time. When using BBs my main concern is the drag. These reels have a good drag, fit your hand well, and are a great innovation. Like I say, I don't know how long they will last but I will know more by the end of the year.

Texeye, I saw a salesman demostrated that reel or similar at Cabelas yesterday. Pretty cool! I do like the ideal that you can almost use one hand to operated it. Very nice feature to have, like in your case where you are using two rods. Here in MN we don't have to worry about that. We are limited to only one rod per angler.

BTW what rod do you have it on?

I have a couple of Bass Pro Extreme reels, and I think they are the best bang for the buck out there. I don't think you can find a better reel for under a hundred bucks, and they are on sale for $39.00. Do yourself a favor and get two.

I had a long look at these the other day myself. In theory it seems like a great system, and the salesman was pretty wound up about them.

I didn't pull the trigger, but for the price, I think I might try one this year.
