Mounting Transducer for Minn Kota Terrova

Just purchased and mounted a new Minn Kota Terrova. Recently had a Power Drive and ive run into problems with the transducer cord (the new Terrova doesnt have universal sonar). The issue is that with the older Power Drive, I could run the cord up through the handle loop at the base of the unit, and then into the trolling motor wiring, then to the sonar. Problem with the Terrova is that they dont have anything at the top of the shaft and how do you attach it at that pivot point so that is doesnt catch in the locking mechanism when you are stowing and deploying. A cable ties doesnt work because the cord wont "slide" through it when you are raising and lowering the motor.

Yes, I know, should have bought the universal sonar, been told that 4 million times. But I truly need a solution on this one. It might be something way easier that Im missing. Please post pictures.

Hope this isnt Minn Kota's way of "nudging you" towards the universal sonar.
