I read in several articles that some of the pros were fishing at Pig Point. I've only been to Red Wing twice, so I've not been to Pig Point, and can't find it on a map. Can someone give me an idea where it is?
Thanks in advance. |

Pig point can be found near the site of the Hawg Trough. Which is located in Pool 4 in the section of the Mississippi River system that borders Wisconsin and Minnesota.
That should get you started in the right direction. Good luck. |

Pig Point is the first "point" along the rip rap shoreline just below Bay City on the Wisconsin side of the upper part of Lake Pepin. It was created by the run off from the high bluff banks. When there is some current along the shoreline in the spring, it can be very good. I caught a couple of 8 pounders along there during the 4 days of the tournament.

it is on 664 off of collage drive just south of the tunnel. it is the old TCC campass. i have been out there the last few nights and been having some good luck. just watch out for the rocks. if you can catch the high tide right after sunset that is the best time. good luck.

Be aware that the water is on the rise.... went up over 2'....AGAIN in the last 2 days...feeder streams are full and dumping in...don't be afraid to move... warm temps will help make moving quite comfotable if your not used to running in the cold (makin a windchill!)!!!
Talk to the bait shops, Dean at Everts Resort is a great source for the right info, tackle etc, He is located on the Wisc side of the river, call or stop by as he has some tackle I suspect you might want to consider!!!! Everyday has been a little different on the north end of the system!! Good Luck! Eric |
