It is a 310MB upgrade. A 1GB would be enough. I hope it fixes the GPS freeze problem I have. Unit froze again on Erie Sat. Just running the Lake Insight.

Good luck, Gill

These are voltage sensative. I have everthing wired directly to a deep cycle "house" battery and never have any "freeze" problems, including the HDS, radar, extentive nmea network, two VHF radios and 3 head units.
The starting battery starts the engine.
May not be your problem but worth considering.

Va Guy

The sonar works fine on my hds5 unit. Only the chart freezes once in awhile. Once last Sat. Have the power tied into the same power source as the last two finders. Don't think that is the problem. Heard others are having similar problems with the hds chart freezing. Maybe the upgrade will do it.
Lowrance suggested a soft reset. Will try that this weekend if it does it after the update is installed.

Thanks for the thought,
Gill

Default Freezing

Any update to this issue? I have 2 HDS 7s and the chart freezes periodically especially when I'm going ~40 mph. I haven't done the latest update so I may be a couple versions back. Pretty sure I did the updates in 2010.
