Hi
It looks like the weather is finally going to straighten out for the area this weekend - the high winds and rain we've "enjoyed" over the past couple weeks looks to be past us just in time for the "mid-June bite". The night ban is over for this season and all species are open. The walleye bite is best in deeper water - 26+ feet has produced the majority of fish so far this week. Leeches worked slowly along the transition areas are turning most of the fish. Again, plain "no-frills" rigs are preferred... keep it simple with a colored hook or AT MOST a hook and colored bead. Too much "jewelry" is a turn-off right now. Fish the deep gravel if you're looking to stay along the south end, or the mud flats (Krause, Seguchie, 8-mile) if you're heading north. Muskie action is best UNDER 6 feet - bucktails have turned most of the fish so far. Smallies are still in transition from the beds to their mid-summer haunts. The surface temperature is around 60 degrees. The "night ban" is over! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The weather for the weekend (according to the National Weather Service) looks like this: Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. Calm wind becoming west southwest between 4 and 7 mph. Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. West southwest wind between 4 and 7 mph becoming calm. Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming west between 4 and 7 mph. Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. The last quarter moon is 6-15-09. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't forget to check out our weekly "shop special" at http://www.lundeens.com/shop.html . Finally, A guy is driving around Wadsworth, Ohio and he sees a sign in front of a house: "Talking Dog For Sale." He rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard and sees a Labrador retriever sitting there. "You talk?" he asks. Yep," the Lab replies. "So, what's your story?" The Lab looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about my gift, and in no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running." "But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals. I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired." The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog. "Ten dollars," the guy says. "Ten dollars? This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling him so cheaply?" "Because he's lying, he never did any of that stuff."
