Hey fellas, I tie my own harnesess and I dont have any problems except for when I run larger blades. Is it possible that the beads I am using are being hit by the larger blades. It looks like my harness i wabbling when I run them with larger blades. Small blades are fine. If I just keep running the larger blades after a while the line between the front and back hook get twisted into a possible mess.....Any clues? knots, line, bead size, ect? Thanks in advance

I tie my own also and have never had that problem. I'm curious as to why also so in the future if I have that problem I'll know what is causing it. Hope that someone in the know chimes in.

It may be necessary to put more beads on the harness when a larger blade is used in order to move the blade farther away from the hook so that the blade does not hit the hook when it spins. I am suggesting that the blade maybe is hitting the hook and the entire rig thus begins spinning, causing the twists to occur. Without seeing the rig, it is difficult to pinpoint the problem.

I have found that a heavy line works much better with large blades to stop line twist. Try #17 to #20 fluorocarbon works very good. Mike

12 lb berklry vansish.....The blades are not hitting the hooks, I will take a pic of a one of my harnesses tonight and post it to see if you guys can identify any issues. I am thinking it may be that the beads are to large, maybe have to put a few smaller blades before the clevis.

First thing you need to do it throw that junk vanish in the gargage and bump it up to Seaguar in 15 pound test, if you fish big water and great lakes go to 20. I have ZERO issues and I run colorado's in 7's and 8's and Indian's in 7's with no problems whatsoever, the only problem I have is keeping the fish off long enough to sit down and relax

Kevin time to get out the fizzing needle, your noggin needs deflated before you get stuck in a doorway. lol I get more line twist from a worm put on the hooks wrond than I ever do from speed or big blades!

I do fish big water (winnebago and green bay) I have always had this issue no matter what line I use. So it is a component on the spinner or something I am doing. Just looking for input not bashin'

Ohh I wasn't bashing, what size beads are you useing? on Erie most of use 6mm, usually around 5-7 of them, I like 6-8 beads per spinner, I use quick change clevis's the ones with the little nipple on them. I also double snell both hooks so they are inline with each other and the bottom one can't get tangled with the top one, I use a number 2 octopus and number 6 trebel on the bottom.
