Default Replacing bulbs on ranger trail

I have a 2000 Ranger 681 and I the right tail lights on the trailer are burned out. I took off the light cover and tried to replace the bulb but I could not get the watertight bulb housing to detach from the trailer to get to the bulb. Any tips that could help. Also, can you get replacement bulbs from and auto parts store or do you have to go to a dealer??

The watertight housing is all one piece. Take off the lens cover and then the rest of it unscrews (2 or 3 screws if I recall correctly). Comes out in one piece. Follow the wires out of the back of the housing and they should be connected via "bullet" connectors on the trailer.

This is how it worked on my 1998 and I believe they were the same until ~2003 or 2004 when they switched to LED's.

Good luck.

Default trailer lights

I replace all my lights with LED lights. No problems since then. They are worth every penny they cost.
