What changes would people like to see in the Wyoming Walleye Circuit?

Better payouts for the top 10 places, the better fisherpersons and no shoot out $$$. Big fish pots and save all the $$ for the best teams.

I'd like to see the shoot-outs stay! People like me drive up from Colorado as well as people coming from other states. If you don't finish top 10, but still win your shoot-out on the first day, it helps offset some of the costs. $500 goes a long way to making it a better trip. I think you also need to set yourself apart by doing something many of the other tournaments don't do.
The only other change is not thrilled with Seminoe. It's a fun lake to fish no doubt, and plenty of fish in it, problem is lodging. If you don't have an RV, there isn't much choice without driving almost an hour. That and electricity for plugging in. I did the tent thing for a long time, and personally I'm getting to old for that crap!

The shoot-outs are what make the WWC different! Keep them....if guys what ALL the money to go to the TOP fishers then they should consider fishing the BIG BOY tournies! I think the shoot-outs are a fun way to keep the remaining 90% of teams excited to still compete. You still have a shot at something if your morning turns out bad! I say keep it the same the numbers will show! If you try to change it every year there is no consistency at all and you show that maybe you dont have faith in what you are doing!

If you look at where the shootout money ends up it goes to the top twenty teams anyways. If you fish good enough on the first day to win your shootout there is a pretty good chance you will finish in the money. When the shoot outs were between two teams for the $250.00 it was spread over the whole field. I think they should do away with them pay down to 25th place based on a field of 100 boats and lets go fishing. I know for fact that the shootout format last year was recommended by and voted in by the Wyoming guys that finish near the top consistantly.
I would also like to see the family purse and youth adult purse come back like the days of old as part of the tournament pot. |

Change nothing. Just started fishing the WWC last year so nothing to compare to but we had a great time. We won our shootout, won prizes from the drawings and we even caught some free shirts the girls were throwing out. I will be fishing all tournaments next year just because it was a great time. I haven't been fishing for walleye for very long but this was a great place to learn more. We plan on giving some of the longtime walleyers a run for their money next year. Rob and his staff were top notch. We will see everyone next year.

Quote:
Boysen: 86 teams total, 11 won shootouts not in the top 10 overall Glendo: 93 teams total, 10 won shootouts not in top 10 Keyhole: 59 teams total, 7 won shootouts not in top 10 Seminoe: 40 teams total, 5 won shootouts not in top 5 paid. Looks to me like the shootouts paid out a few extra spots doesn't it? If you pay down to 20 and eliminate shootouts, fewer chances for some that just enjoy the fishing. I say keep them. liveforfishing has some great comments too. Giveaways, free stuff, great time! That says alot! |

The shootouts are going to stay. We have talked about splitting them up. Still 5 boat field pay 250$ sat and 250$ sun. So you will have a chance to win 250$ or 500$. What do all of you think?

Curt,
I said top 20 not top 10 now how does the math look? The family purse is extra money paid by the anglers. |
