I also been using the 300 WSM for about 5 years with never a problem. The only problem is that the shells are way over priced. Oh well fun gun to shoot though.

Like others have posted, I have not heard of this problem, linked to the WSM cartridges. It is still reasonable enough to say one should be aware of the neck blowing off a cartridge when ejecting the round - and IF it actually happens - well, it's not smart at all to shoot another round until you confirm the case neck is not lodged in the chamber or barrel.
Like others, I would be extremely surprised if this happened with factory ammo. And can only imagine it happening with hand loads if the hand loader did not properly inspect the cases being loaded, or otherwise loaded incorrectly. |

I've been shooting the 25 WSSM since it came out.
Several hundred rounds down range.....all factory ammo and not a single problem. I do a lot of reloading and I found out the hard way that powder isn't the same as it was 20 years ago. I've had to throw away all my old reloading books and use newer information on my 223. My old loads were too hot. Same powder, same number of grains, same bullets and same casings.....but they are a LOT hotter than they were 20 years ago. If you are reloading, make sure you are using up to date recipes. |

Have you had the head spacing checked? Had a 357 that I could shot 38's through but when I shot the 357 mag round the casing were split and had to use a ram rod to get them out.
