Default 2050 Rod locker drain

The drain in my rod locker isn't working at all. Does anyone know if you can pull the black plug out and validate it is pointing the right direction?

If not I will just drill a new hole because some fiberglass is prolly just blocking it.

It could just be blocked up from residual fiberglass from the drilling when the boat was made. Have you tried to poke a coat hanger or anything down there?

Whenever I get a new boat, I dump about five gallons of water down the bilge, then drive around for a while, then pull the drain plug. You wouldn't believe the amount of scraps that pours out the hole, whether it's a glass boat, or a tin one. This stuff can easily clog a bilge pump, so it's better to get it out of the hull on land, than wait till it renders the pump useless out on the water when you need it.

As the other post suggests:
Clean the bilge, clean the drains etc.

1. Go to the livewell drain with a garden hose, and blow back up the drain with the garden hose. If anything is blocking the hose, it will be blown back up into the bilge or compartment. Clean it out.

2. Tip the boat up - go into a front compartement and turn on the garden hose with the drains opened. Continue running the hose for about 1/2 hour or so, to be sure that everything has been flushed out of the bilge.
Do the same thing with all compartments, to be sure that everything that is floating about - get flushed out of the boat. Check the bilge drain from time to time, and clean it as it gets blocked up.

Take care

Default Blockage

Thanks for the tips guys, they unfortunatly have been done. I had an issue with drainage in my front compartments and the rod locker. Both front compartments just had some fiberglass in them and I was able to clear it with a hanger. Then I ran water down them with a hose to make sure it was all out. They don't drain as fast as I would like but they function now.

According to Ranger the black drains in the compartments have a 90 degree angle on them. I think the drain on the rod locker is pointing up which causes nothing to drain, I couldnt get a hanger into it at all. I think it is in wrong so just need to pull it out and put in correctly, or drill a hole to allow water to drain. Is this possible?

The rodlocker drain on my 621 just goes straight down and dumps on top of the fuel tank.

Dang it, I guess drilling will be the only option then.
Thanks
