Default Humminbird 917C

I recently purchased a Humminbird 788C for the bow to replace the 931C because the 931C doesn't support mapping . The 788C is still in the box and I see the the 917C, which I know is discontinued, is on sale for around $650. Any thoughts on selling the 788 and buying the 917, any advantages besides the larger screen? I really like the 788, I have one on the dash. Thanks

I had a 931C, and was never really satisfied with the detail. Sold it and bought a 778C, and was amazed at the difference, much better. If the 917C uses the same software as the 931C, I think you will be disappointed.
PS I have my Garmin 498C linked to my HB 778C, hard to beat a Garmin GPS.

If your serious about buying one, you probably want to get to it. Last night at this time there 13 listed on Amazon, as low $635. Today, zero.

I'm looking to possibly purchase one as well, I emailed a few ebay sellers that have them listed at 999 or bo. A few of them will drop to 680. I don't think these units, listed anywhere will last long at these prices.

Good Luck

My 917 doesn't look that much different (2d)from my 997, though I know it has half as much power.

Default humminbird 917c

I've ordered one 3 times on the internet. Each time they have run out before they could fill my order.
If you find more then one let us know. I think that I will end up with a Humminbird 858c or a Lowrance hds 7. Not sure which??

I sent quite a few emails back and forth between myself and "robinselectronics" on Ebay regarding the 917c. Very pleasant. They will take $680 if you make an offer.

I havn't decided which unit I'm going to go with yet, so I havn't purchased. If I was going to buy a 917, I'd try these guys...promptly returned emails, "friendly", good price. 100% positive feedback.

The good deals are disappearing fast, but you can check www.humminbird.factoryoutletstore.com or www.igeekbuys.com
