Default Mille Lacs Lake - Weekend Outlook 2-4-10

Hi

Most of the walleye we've seen since the weekend have come from the mudflats in 23-25 feet of water in the morning. The top edge will often give way to the deeper (bottom) edge as the day goes on - this is where the perch are beginning to show up along with the tullibee. Small jigging spoons (Pimples, Frostees, Fire Eyes) in the darker colors are producing most of the fish. 8-Mile, 7-Mile and the Boot are each worth a look. The inshore bite has been pretty slow.

The weather for the weekend (according to the National Weather Service) looks like this:

Friday...Cloudy with snow likely. Snow accumulation around 1 inch. Highs 25 to 30. Northeast winds 10 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent.

Friday Night...Cloudy. A chance of snow in the evening...then a slight chance of snow after midnight. Lows around 15. Northeast winds 5 mph. Chance of snow 40 percent.

Saturday...Cloudy with a 20 percent chance of snow. Highs 20 to 25. Northeast winds 10 mph.

Saturday Night And Sunday...Cloudy with a 40 percent chance of snow. Lows 10 to 15. Highs around 20.

The last quarter moon is 2-5-10.

Don't forget to check out our weekly "shop special" at www.lundeens.com

Once again this winter we are renting FL20's, power augers and underwater cameras. Be sure to reserve them ahead to assure availability.

Finally, A grocer put up a sign that read "Eggplants, 25¢ ea.--three for a dollar." All day long, customers came in exclaiming: "Don't be ridiculous! I should get four for a dollar!" Meekly the grocer capitulated and packaged four eggplants. The tailor next door had been watching these antics and finally asked the grocer, "Aren't you going to fix the mistake on your sign?" "What mistake?" the grocer asked. "Before I put up that sign no one ever bought more than one eggplant."

Have a great weekend,
