I am very familiar with the areas, I was just wondering if anyone who had been out lately has had any luck. I haven't been out in 3 weeks and I was looking for a up to date report.

Don't have any reports other than bring a snowmobile.

Lake Oahe, Missouri River - Sunday, February 28, 2010

This past weekend we had a group of fisherman from North Dakota. The fish on the upper middle portion of Lake Oahe were consistent throughout the day on Friday. We ended up with our limit for our party of 16. Saturday started with a slow bite, but as the morning progressed the fishing improved and we did end up with a nice bunch of fish by noon. Our group was on the road right after lunch with a great bunch of fish. Travel conditions were a little better on the ice, but the snowmobiles made our lives much easier. Most of the fish this weekend seemed to have slid into a little deeper water. Most fish were caught between 35 and 50 fow. We did have a few perch and catfish mixed in with our walleyes. The size of the walleyes/saugers was very respectable. It was not uncommon to see 18 to 22 inch saugers, along with some really nice walleyes. I don't remember ever catching saugers of this quality or quantity on Lake Oahe. Again, we used mostly jigmasters. Color seemed not to matter once again. We anticipate this bite to continue for several more weeks prior to the spawn. My feeling is that the bite may be spreading more to the south, which would get us a little closer to home. Ice conditions are in great shape, so we hope to have several more good, safe weeks of ice fishing. We do have openings, so feel free to give us a call.
