Where did you buy them?? I was at BPS and they more expensive than I would have thought from all of the chatter here about them.

Bass pro is outrageous, I've never seen any good deals there, Fleet Farm actually is pretty reasonable, you'd think a pure sporting goods store--ie. Gander, cabelas would have cheaper prices...but what do I know?

they are about a buck higher than last year, last season I bought them any where from 1.99 to 2.99. The offer Bass Pro has going on their FS, is about the best deal i have found this year 3.94, Bass Pro has them on sale at that price in the stores.Their normal price is 4.99, but with the spring classic they are on sale til the 14th. They have 11 exclusive colors and I just received my back order from the store, bought 100 of the various colors and in the 2 sizes they offer. Figure may as well stock up.

Cabelas almost always beats Bass Pros prices when it comes to fishing. Although Bass Pro uasually has the better selection.

Up where I live, they lack walleye gear. Usually go to Cabelas for a better selection.

Fleet Farm has the best regular shelf price I've seen. Every time I go in I grab a few.

![]() I do at times remove my split rings, reason for removing them is you'll get a little different action...also by removing the split ring you'll get better feel for the lure and how it's running, this is especially true if you run mono. Many will tie a snap on their line, from the snap to the split ring which is attached to the eye of the lure. By removing the split ring your going from your snap directly to the lure. Some will get rid of both the snap and split ring and tie directly to the lure. I think it really comes down to personal preference and what method your most confident in. I have cranks with and without split rings, a time or two the lure without the split ring has been better, I find this to be more true on pressured lakes, clear lakes or when the fish are negative. When it comes to vertical presentations, be it a jig, spoon, etc...I definitely believe in getting rid of the split ring and or snap and tying directly...it does make a difference. I say play around with split rings/snaps or lack of, try different things... This is the sort of lure tweaking that can be a difference maker and it's so often overlooked!! BIRDDOG |
