Default HB 937 mapping

I have noticed that with my Humminbird 937 that I can outrun my lake map unless I have it zoomed out so far I can't see any detail. Does anyone know if there is a way to increase the refresh rate or is it just they way it is.

It does it with both the Navionics and Lakemaster chips and I start to outrun the map at about 25 miles per hour. The unit has all of the current updates and everything else works just fine.

Nope. It's done it since I owned it. It acts like the processor isn't fast enough to keep up. I don't know if they are all like this but with the icon moving it gets towards the edge of the map before the map makes a big jump. I don't understand why the cursor has to move and then the map moves insted of leaving the cursor in the middle and having the processor move the map around??

Seems odd.

I would call their 800 number or shoot a message to that Humminbird guy who posts on this site.

I think his sign in name is Joby@Humminbird.

I'm sure the 800 line or Joby could help you out.

It is a 937, same as a 917 but with a dual frequency transducer. Nobody has chimed in yet and I haven't called the factrory yet. I have had it for two years now and has done it since I got it. It's a livable problem just wondering if there was a fix or not. The new Lakemaster chip with the depth color option will make it easier to back out the map and still stick to deeper water by reading colors instead of contour lines.

Default 917

I put a 917 in my boat this spring. Had it out for the first trip and I noticed that I also can out run the map refresh. Have not found anything that will allow that to speed up. and it also has all the updates and running lakemaster. I look at it as something that I will just need to deal with. I can see where this is could be annoying on long runs.

My bad, it was corrected with the 4.750 update. I was complaining off of last years problems, it was fixed over the winter.
