I recently took out my bow mounted GPS puck and now there is a 1" hole up there. Don't really want to patch it up, anybody have any ideas on like maybe a flat stainless steel cover or some type of plug to cover it. Looked in some marine catalogs and couldn't find much.

Maybe there is a 1" rubber grommet that is solid you could just cork the hole with? Also there are stainless covers for wiring that comes out of your dash I got at Boaters world. There wouldn't be any wires to come out of it but it wouldn't look bad. Maybe there is also a piece of flat SS stock that is designed for this? Just a couple ideas...

Check out an auto parts store. I believe there are plastic plugs for your type of problem. I plugged some smaller holes in my gunwall with some and they work pretty well.

You might check Home Depot. I think the stainless steel plugs for the hand spray on sink basins might work for you if they use a toggle bolt.

Use a caliper to get the EXACT size of the hole.
Take the caliper and pick up either a plastic hole plug or a stainless hole plug of the same diameter. Take the plug to the boat, snap it into the hole and you are good to go. The plug will have spring loaded side prongs on the side to hold the plug in place. Easy and quick. Take care REW |

I've seen a step pad used to mount over the area where there are holes. It was a black, hard plastic center, with stainless trim around the edges. I'll see if I can find a link. First look on West Marine was unsuccessful.
As I was looking, I found a Berts track setup that could be used. Mount the track with an insert over the hole. Like this http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...k&merchID=4005 Back to looking... How about a rope cleat. http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...2&merchID=4006 Here's the pad I was looking for: http://www.go2marine.com/product.do?no=23686F Another of the Perko brand http://www.go2marine.com/product.do?no=86083F If it was not such a big hole something like this could work http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...dexId=cat21388 Something like that? Thanks guys, actually thinking of the step pad as it would be nice for stepping on when loading/unloading but keep the options coming
