No - i don't eat my muskies... i really never eat any fish that i catch b/c there's nothing better than watching them swim away safely to fight again another day after you release them... but thanks for playing along and being good sports. (most of you!)

I watched a guy last year keep EVERY single fish he caught (walleyes, perch, sunfish, etc.) and it was such a turnoff - but i couldn't bring myself to say anything to this old meat fisherman.

there is nothing wrong with it - when done legally.

the person i referenced above would go out in the morning - limit out... and then repeat the process at least 3x per day. it was disgusting after seeing that happen for 3 or 4 days straight.

the guy owned a brand new lund fisherman and was someone of means - so i know he wasn't starving which seemed to make it all the worse.

hey if you need to keep a couple for the table - i have no problem with that when done within the bounds of the law. but don't make a pig out of yourself b/c that is revolting.

and DEFINITELY don't keep muskies!!!!!!!!!!

Now that you all brought it up, I'll have to try some breaded and fryed. I enjoy a fried pike and they can't taste much different. Can always use them to fertilize the rose garden if they don't turn out to be good.

Default Planked

There is a receipe for planked fish where you throw the fish away and eat the plank. Probably applies to musky.

Years ago my grandpa kept a muskie he caught (no idea why) and brought it home. He filleted it out, and baked it with a liberal amount of cajun seasoning and some lemon. It was absolutely delicious!

Now, I'll never keep a muskie, but they sure are fine to eat.
