First of all who makes Ranger trailers? It seems after reading this section Ranger trailers appear to have a lot of issues. Fenders coming loose, bunk boards coming losse, light issues, hub issues, brakes???

YA they are not all they are cracked up to be. I have had many hub issues with mine and the "great" Ranger warranty wants nothing to do with it. Ranger makes their own trailer.

Ranger makes their own trailers and, personally, I like them a lot. I'd put them up against any recreational boat trailer on the road today in terms of fit, finish and overall build quality and quality of components.

My old Ranger Trail (1998) had the regular bulbs and I think I burned out 1 in 6 years. I also had to replace the "breakaway" wire cable on the hitch as I forgot to unhook it from the Suburban before pulling away - oops. Other than that, it's just regular maintenance - wash it, change the hub oil every 2 years and keep the tires on the tandem at 50 PSI.

My new Ranger Trail (2007) is even better. Has the road armor finish and LED's all the way around. Different manufacturer for the hitch and different style hubs (like they put on a semi trailer), but still excellent.

Plus, the factory support and warranty are excellent.

Just my $.02.

Scott

I agree, I had two shore lander trailers, and even though I had problems with my light, ranger trailers are twice the trailer of those other two.

My only complant would be those curly safty cables. I prefer chains

I've got the 04 model and have had just about every problem listed, sometimes several times in the same year. But it looks good. Boat stands the test of time.

I have an 07 trailer under my Reata and it's hands down the best boat trailer I ever had. It's also the first new boat and trailer I ever had.
I pull my boat at the posted speed of 65 and 70 mph all the time. The RangerTrail is rock solid. I estimate somewhere around 10,000 miles with very little trouble.

Mine has been rock solid since 1997. Just replaced the tires for the first time last fall. Very well built and launches and loads great.

My dad has a 2010 and his looks to be even better than mine.
