Default Warrior Pro Tiller Steering

Has anyone ever experienced their pro tiller steering acting sluggish in one direction(jumping). Mine has been very sluggish and slow then today on the water it just stopped going either direction. After I got back to the dock it started working again but very slow going to the left. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Check your fluid level. If you let it ran down too far you may now have air in the line. That will have to be bled out.

It could be that your "left / right" turn switch is going out. If you know of anyone else who has a Warrior rigged with Pro Tiller, ask them if you can borrow their switch to test against yours. If you pry a little on one corner they pop out pretty easy. They are a 3 prong switch. TH Marine in Tennessee generally carries them, or you can do a google search and contact Carling Technologies. The switch should have a model # on it.

I had a switch go out once before. The boat would turn right but it wouldn't turn left. Sometimes it would turn left and then it would go out again. Sounds to me like it could be your switch. Depending on where you order them a switch is anywhere from $20 to $30 so its not an expensive fix.

Thanks for the advise. How do you go about bleeding the air out of the system and can you use the the trim switch in the steering slot to test if the switch is bad?

No, you cannot use the trim switch to test the steering switch. They are 2 different switches with different functions. One is up/down and the other is left/right. Call my cell # at 320-424-1382 and I can provide you the phone # of a guy that can help you get a switch or how to bleed the line. Pretty sure its the switch.
