have a few questions about tying worm harnesses.
Would a Gamakatsu size #4 Octopus hook be suitable and large enough for worm harness? Can you use a finesse #2 hook? whats pro's/ Con's about using a stinger hook and what size would be recommended? Last edited by lighthouse; 06-27-2010 at 08:54 AM. Reason: misspelled |

I use size 4 Octopus hooks with size 3 blades, size 2 hooks with size 5 blades.
Stinger hook? Sure- or you could tie a 3-hook harness. |

A standard 'open water' harness that we use on Lake Eie has a #6 treble on the back, with a #2 octopus hook in the front. Hooks are about 3 inches apart.
I've been experimenting with using the Octopus hooks for both hooks this season, and seem to notice a better hook-up to net ratio |

I use two #1 octopus hooks for erie harnesses that I make up. I prefer not to use a treble. I feel I get just as good of hook ups with larger single hook then smaller treble. easier to store as well, less hooks to get out of net etc.
