Default Lowrance losses depth in weeds

Last year upgraded software to 2.1.0, on lcx-25c & lms332c. I never had problem before in shallow weedy lakes, but since upgrade????
I've done the soft reboot & the hard reboot, but no help. Now i'm told to set chart manual mode on &manually set depth. Will this actually help or is lowrance just giving me the run-around?
At home on kentucky lake, it's not a problem, but when i go to n. Wisc on vacation, i have issues.

I fought this issue on an LMS334i. In shallow, weedy water, the screen would freeze up and the digital depth would flash a nonsense number. Rolling back to an older revision of software did not fix the problem. Manually setting depth and chart mode was no help with mine. There is no software fix I'm aware of for either of your units. I fish a lot in weedy lakes, so I got rid of the 334.

Lowrance swapped my 334 for a refurbished LMS527c in late 2008. The LMS520-series has a software upgrade to deal with the "shallow/weedy" problem. Kinda mixed blessing- 527 works better in the weeds, but the switches on the 334 worked more reliably.

I had a LCX-25C and never had an issue with issue with losing bottom. I had version 1.6. I would contact Lowrance and ask for the older version. They sent it to me without any hassel.

Chris:

I tried that on my 334i. 25% still would not work in weeds and the next choice was 0% which worked, well, as you would expect 0 pings to work.
