All you need to do is use the Humminbird PC Software that is free when you register your unit. If your like me and dont like to read instructions there is a good video on youtube on how to do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKMq_PWSSII |

??? MMMmmm When you buy the new HB unit, simply regsister the unit at HB and at the same time you can simply download Humminbird PC( a program for your waypoints routes tec.) for free. Go to http://www.gpsbabel.org/ You can simply convert waypoints, tracks, and routes between popular GPS receivers and mapping programs. It also has powerful manipulation tools for such data. Download/convert you navigation info from Lowrance to HB. I took the time to seperate the info in to seperate files for each lake. After you have the HB files made.... Simply download the navigation info file(lake) of choice from the Humminbird pc program to a chip and simply insert the chip into the HB unit and it will simply upload that navigation data into the unit. I have simply converted Garmin and Lowrance to Hummingbird pc. You can also convert HB to Lowrance simply. Simply simple. |

Like stated above it is very simple to do. It would be nice if the people that didn't know wouldn't make comments about it.

In the case of transferring waypoints as was asked by the OP, "simple" to me is saving the waypoints from one unit to an SD card, popping said SD card into another unit and saving them to the unit! That my friends is simple!! BUT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, to convert them, one must first save them to an SD card from the Lowrance unit, download a program from HB (registered users of course, and for free as well) onto a PC, upload the waypoints (tracks, trails, routes) to the PC, convert said info, load converted waypoint info etc back onto SD card and finally insert SD card into HB unit and save there! For "some" people, either is simple and for others, neither is simple! Can it be done??? You betcha it can!! It's simple to some, not as simple to some, but it can be done, no doubt!!

UUHHMmmm You do not need to use HB pc if you do not want the extra steps involved with its use. To simplify, you can just use babelgps and convert the data and upload to the unit. HB pc is just an few extra steps to organize the navigation data. You could down load the nav data to HB pc at a later date if you wish. No more difficult than changing from one manuf. to another Not a Humminbird rep, but I play one on the internet. Hawker Just having some fun. |

![]() Me too Mike, me too!! And I'm just a dedicated "user" 1shooter, don't work for them in any way, though a very good friend used too until fairly recently!! It was all in fun till this pointed statement (" It would be nice if the people that didn't know wouldn't make comments about it.") got made and after reviewing some of his past posts he made in regards to Lowrance units trying to be helpful (or not), I am so ready to use his own words on him when the opportunity once again arises!! ![]() Bassnbuck, I really do hope you were able to get the information you need to get your waypoint data transferred to a new HB unit!! Lots of really good folks here on WC, and lots of clowns too (me being one of them (clowns that is))
