I have a LMS 522c and and HDS unit hooked together over Ethernet to share sonar data. I understand that full waypoint sharing and editing is available over Ethernet, but I cannot seem to get mine to work. Are there other settings I need to make?
On the 522 I have waypoint sharing selected, and on the HDS the only waypoint sharing options I can find relate to NMEA 2000 and 0183. Thanks. |

Under "sonar settings" you have to make sure the "network sonar" is selected on the HDS. As you add a waypoint on one unit, it will add/delete it to the other unit as long as both units are turned on. To have the feature where it will add waypoints without both units being turned on, both units have to be HDS units for that to happen.

I could be all wet, but I believe they have to be sharing the same GPS puck so they would need to be "networked" also. The 522c has it's own internal GPS source. I thought the Ethernet connection was for sonar image sharing.

To share waypoints between a non hds unit and an HDS unit, both units must have the exact same waypoints on them to start with. Try clearing all the waypoints from one unit, then copy all the waypoints to the other via an SD card then try sharing and see if it works.

I think the waypoint sharing is done by the NMEA 2000 network not the Ethernet. Just make shure waypoint sharing is on on both units.

You need to use the NEMA 2000 to share WP from LCX LMS to HDS HDS to HDS you can use the Enet....... The Enet from the LCX LMS to the HDS will share sonar
