Default LakeMaster/LCX 15mt

If your LakeMaster card is pre-2010, it is a standard SD card and will work in the 15mt. If it was purchased in 2010, it is probably on a microSD card and will not work. Contact LakeMaster if you need and SD version.

another thing to consider is the size of the card. The 15mt could only read up to a 512mb card.

Well I bought a lcx 15mt on ebay. Waiting for it to show up. I talked to Lakemaster and was told the large pre 2010 SD cards will work. Also looked at Lowrance website and there is a download for this unit that will update the software to accept all the different map cards. Thanks for the help.

Post You need the update...

Install the new update for it, and it should work.

I updates a pair of the LCX 15 MT's just the other day here at Gander Mountain in Fargo...and then put the new 2010 LakeMaster in it...works great and it now has new features and functions.

Check the software version on the unit, it likely need to be updated.

Read carefully the warning on top of the update download page, there is two versions of the LCX 15 MT. One uses one update version, the other another.

Default Lakemaster chip in a LCX 15 mt

I have a 2010 Lakemaster chip and I am unable to get the LCX 15MT to recognize it. Mine is the older version running on software version 3.6.0. If anyone knows how to get this unit to recognize the chip I would appreciate the help. My LCX 111c HD just failed and it is going to take a while to get my HDS 10. Would like to use this unit as my mapping unit until then.

Had the same problem, call lakemaster. They will have you send in the lakemaster chip you now have and get you one that will work. Thats what they did for me. About a weeks turn around time if you mail it to them right away, but call first they will give you a # to put in with your old chip and you also put in a note as to what you want them to do. Took about a week for me.

I received the unit and it needs the 3.6 update. I can't find a SD card smaller than 1g around here but, I heard Gander Mt. will update it for $10 here in Baxter. When I talked to Lakemaster they said 2009 and older cards will work and if I had a 2010 or newer they would format my card for free. I hope this will work because my map only shows the outline of the states right now.

Thanks for the "Solution" Trailhound. Do not think I want to have my card formatted as this is a temporary issue. I have contacted Lowrance about my failed LCX111c HD and they are going to replace it with a HDS 10 for a service fee. This is great as they have been getting a "Bad" rap for not servicing legacy products. I hope to have my new HDS 10 by the end of August and the LCX 15 MT will be back to sonar only duties on the Bow of my boat. Thanks for providing the info.

Am I understanding this correctly, Gander can do software updates on Lowrance units? I'd like to have more SD card options for my LCX15s.
